Millionaire Alexander Bishop needs the best wife money can buy. In order to inherit his family business, he must get engaged--fast. And Morgan, with her beauty and pedigree, is the perfect candidate. Her sharp tongue may drive him crazy, but she needs money to save the foundation she loves, and he needs a fiancEe. It's a flawless arrangement--no strings, no love. But soon she has him craving more, and cursing the platonic terms of their agreement.

Still, he won't allow need--no matter how hot it burns--to threaten everything he's built.

After finishing Khloe's story The Millionaire Makeover (Bachelor Auction), of course I HAD to read about what happens to her BFF, Morgan. I loved this story even more than Khloe's story. I LOVED Morgan...loved her bright, feisty, sassy self. She doesn't have much of a filter on her mouth, and it's great. There's no facade with Morgan...no games or gimmicks. She get's straight to the point and tells it like it is. She doesn't deal well with feeling humiliated, rejected or being made to look like a fool (who does, right?)....which is how she feels with her cheating fiance' dumping her. HER! The darling of Boston's social elite! She's a fighter though. She goes through the motions of her privileged life with her social mask firmly set in place and staunchly erected emotional barriers, acting all unaffected. I adored this girl. She's so sassy and commands a conversation with such authority and humor. I loved her confidence and strength. She takes everyone by surprise leaving them not only speechless but dumbfounded. She was refreshing and hilarious in a scary way.

Alexander Bishop is the polar opposite to Morgan. He's stiff and rigid and constantly taken off his guard by her antics and verbal lingo. He's a broody, arrogant workaholic. He's rude and makes no apologies. And he has one big problem --- he's got a time limit to become engaged or lose the controlling rights of his father's company to another successor. Alex Bishop is a hard man to like. He's very stern and serious and never smiles. He's always in control...never impulsive. And he finds himself forced to be tied to a woman he's not even sure he likes....(but she sure is tempting). [heheh]. And she tests the restraints of his control and his patience. BUT...he has to go through with this charade of pretending to be engaged to gain his birthright; his family company business.

I've read many, MANY romance novels where the two protagonists are forced to pretend to be a couple for their own personal gain and reasons. This one, though predictable, is among the top 5 of my "LOVE IT" list. It's just plain fun entertainment with an easy flowing pace and likable, interesting characters. I loved how Alex and Morgan agree to "shelf" their mutual animosity towards each other to become partners in crime. It was pretty funny and so entertaining. Alex watches and learns Morgan...how she hides her vulnerability behind sarcasm. He see's how she always projects a strong front....how it's all a veneer. So when he see's her break...when he see's her hurting, or fight not to shed a tear, it slays him. Because he knows how much she's hurting to show her vulnerability. He see's her goodness...her kindness. He see's how she gives of herself to those less fortunate. And he falls. He swallows his pride, and overlooks all his damage... and allows his emotions to show a little bit. And it was pretty great.

This story is told in a dual POV. The intimate scenes are tasteful and not overplayed. They don't overpower the plot, but rather compliment it. I thought this story was frikkin' brilliant and brilliantly conveyed and so much fun.

A Millionaire at Midnight Naima Simone 9781682814277 Books Reviews

What more can I say, one of the best romance stories I have read in a long time. I couldn’t help rooting for the characters, Morgan and Alex. I highly recommend this book.
Love this book! The comedy in the novel was fantastic, and I just loved the spunk from Morgan. This is one excellent enemies to lovers romance, with a steam factory to make any romance junkie's heart a flutter.
Wow, just WOW! I could not put this down. This was the first book that I've ever read by this author, but I am a fan. The chemistry was amazing and I adore the characters. Morgan made me laugh. Alex had me drooling! I highly recommend this book!
Loved the story line and quality writing. Two flawed people coming together is always a good bet. This book had me laughing out loud one minute and crying the next. Looking forward to reading more of Naima Simone's work.
I liked this a lot. Even tho it's a type of story I have read before, I like these types of fake engagement/contract marriage stories, that's why I bought it, haha... But my point is, I have read them before but this was special because of Morgan humor played against Alex's coldness. They brought out something in each other and saved each other.. I do have to say there was predictability, but it was well written, a strong, non crying heroine which I appreciate so much. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down.
This is another installment of the bachelor auction series by Naima Simone that does not disappoint. This read was so hot, entertaining and wonderful. Alex and Morgan run into each other and do not like each other, but then they realize that the need to work, together both for work reasons and personal reasons. When they make a deal and decide to make sure it's a business only deal will it be or will someone end up getting hurt.

This was a great read and again Naima Simone keeps you wanting more and you don't want to put the book down.
Brilliant and original! What I love most about Simone's "millionaire" books is that they aren't the typical boss-chases-heroine-around-the-office stories. Even though we start once again at the bachelor auction, it's an entirely new set-up with vivid and entertaining characters who light up the pages from page 1 till the end.

Morgan is beautiful and snarky but also wounded and compassionate. And, Alex Bishop? Well, holy hell. Just hang on to your panties, ladies. He is the kind of hero I love the most--dark, broody, big (in every way) and unyielding. Unyielding until one particular woman starts to bend him to her will. Lovely, delicious storytelling!

Recommended to readers with a pulse. Seriously. Simone is brilliant.
